The 2025 Bahamas National Chess Championship returns as an elite over-the-board national championship event, featuring 10 of the strongest chess players in The Bahamas. For nine (9) rounds these competitors will battle for $2,000 in prize money and the coveted title of 2025 Bahamas National Chess Champion.

APRIL

The 2025 Bahamas Scholastic Chess Championship will assemble the best student chess players from across the Bahamas over the Easter holiday weekend.
On Saturdar April 19th, 4-player teams will battle to determine the National Scholastic Teams Champion. Then on Sunday April 20th, students will battle over the board in a FIDE Rated Rapid Tournament to determine the 2025 National Scholastic Chess Champion. |
JUNE

The 4th edition of the Orjan Lindroth Memorial Chess Tournament (OLMCT) an esteemed event gathering elite chess masters in a picturesque setting returns at the beautiful all-inclusive Breezes Resort, in Nassau, The Bahamas.
This edition features a 9-round Open Tournment with a total prize fund of $17,000, and a 7-round U2000 FIDE rated tournament with a total prize fund of $5,000. It's the ultimate chess vacation! |
OCTOBER

The Inaugural Bahamas Blitz Battle will feature heads-up matches in a 3-minute + 2-second increment per move, double round-robin format between six of the Bahamas’s best Chess Players. With big prizes and exciting matchups, the Battle will change the game for Bahamian Chess fans and the Bahamas' best chess players.
The main event, by invitation only, is followed by a nine (9)-round open blitz tournament with the same time control. |

The 3rd National Junior Female Chess Championship returns November 1st - 2nd.
Female chess players from all across the Bahamas will gather to participate to become the 2025 National Junior Female Chess Champion. Will the 2023 and 2024 Champion estend her winning streak or will a new champion emerge. Don't miss a move as these female warriors prove that they are Queens of the Chess Board!!! |

The inaugural National Primary School Chess Championship preimers November 14th 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
Chess players from all across the Bahamas will gather to participate to become the first National Primary School Chess Absolute Champion and the National Primary School Female Chess Champion. They may be young but they are strong and skilled chess players that know how to battle over the board! Don't miss the action. It will be historic and epic!!! |

The National Junior Chess Championship held annually since 1974 returns November 15th & 16th.
This FIDE rated classic chess tournament will feature all the top rated Bahamian Junior Chess players in an epic battle to crown the 2025 National Junior Champion. Along with a title the winner is gauranteed 1 of 10 spots in the National Chess Championship. Will the 2023 and 2024 Champion estend his winning streak or will a new champion emerge?
