TOURNAMENT NOTICE AND REGULATIONS
DATE: Sunday, November 16th, 2025
LOCATION: Boost Academy​, 14 Palmdale Avenue
START TIME: 9:00 A.M.
FORMAT: 5 Rounds, Swiss System
TIME CONTROL: Game in 10 minutes

TOURNAMENT FORMAT: This is a BCF rated tournament, that the FIDE laws of chess will govern. Swiss format of 5 rounds; game in 10 minutes.
 
SCHEDULE:
On-site registration: Saturday, 15th November, 9:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
 
Round 1: 9:00 a.m.
Round 2: 9:30 a.m.
Round 3: 10:00 a.m.
Round 4: 10:30 a.m.
Round 5: 11:00 a.m.

AWARDS
Immediately after round 5
 
ELIGIBILITY • Open to any player who has not reached his/her 12th birthday before 1st January 2026 and is enrolled in grades 1 to 6 in a Bahamian School. 
 
ENTRY
Submission: Registration form must be completed and submitted:
  • Online until 5:00 p.m. November 15th at www.bahamaschessfederation.org
  • Select events, then select Primary School Chess Championship 2025.
  • Complete and submit the registration form.
  • Onsite in paper form from 9:15 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Boost Academy on November 15th at the National Junior Chess Championship.
 
Fees: $10 per player
 
Fees are payable on-site on November 15th until 5:00 p.m.
 
 
RULES:
 
Pairings will be done automatically by the Swiss Manager software based on the FIDE ‑Swiss Rules.
 
The default time is 5 minutes after the round starts.
 
Tie-Break System:
  1. Buchholz Cut 1
  2. Buchholz
  3. Sonneborn Berger
  4. Progressive Score
  5. Direct Encounter
 
The Tournament Director & Chief Arbiter can agree to change the format before the beginning of the tournament if needed, depending on the number of players entered.
 
No mobile phones, laptops, tablets, or other smart devices (including watches) will be allowed in the play area.
 
By registering for this event, players acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to the tournament regulations.
