The 2026 Bahamas Scholastic Individual Chess Championship will assemble the best student chess players from across The Bahamas.
On Saturdary May 23rd, students will begin battling over-the-board in a FIDE Rated Rapid Tournament to determine the 2026 National Individual Scholastic Chess Champions.
This tournament is also a 'Qualifying' Tournament to determine the CAC Youth Chess Festival team that will travel to represent The Bahamas in Costa Rica, November 2026.

Saturday:
Registration Fee Payment: 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Round 1: 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Round 2: 1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
30 Minutes’ Snack Break
Round 3: 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Round 4: 3:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Sunday:
Round 5: 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Round 6: 1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Round 7: 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Awards Presentation: 3:30 p.m.
Format
FIDE rated, Swiss System, Game in 15 mins
Entry Fee – $10 per player (with BCF junior membership); $15 without BCF Junior Membership
Payments will be collected on Saturday, May 23rd, until 12:30p.m.
Any registered player whose fee is not paid by the deadline will be removed from the list.

Prizes –1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies for players with the highest individual scores in each absolute category
1st place trophies for the female player with the top score in each category
Title:
The overall winner will be recognized as the Scholastic Individual Chess Champion for 2026
The top female will be awarded as the Scholastic Female Champion for 2026
The overall winners in the U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 absolute and female will be recognized as the category champions.
Qualification – This tournament will serve as a qualifier for the Bahamas CAC Youth Chess Team that will travel to Costa Rica in November 2026. The top U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 absolute and female will earn 1st right to represent the Bahamas as official players at the CAC Youth Chess Festival 2026. CONDITIONS APPLY.
