Regulations

DATE: Saturday, April 19th, 2025.
LOCATION: Q CAFE, QUEENS COLLEGE

SCHEDULE:
Round 1: 11:00 a.m.
Round 2: immediately following round 1
Round 3: immediately following round 2
30 minute break
Round 4: immediately following the break
Round 5: immediately following round 4

FORMAT: 5 Rounds, Swiss System

TIME CONTROL: Game in 15 minutes

PRIZES:
Junior School

Trophies to the teams that finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd place overall
Medals to each player of the teams that finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd place overall
Trophy to the player with the top score on board 1,2,3 & 4

Senior School

Trophies to the teams that finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd place overall
Medals to each player of the teams that finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd place overall
Trophy to the player with the top score on board 1,2,3 & 4

Titles

The overall team winner in the Junior Category will be recognized as the Scholastic Junior Team Chess Champion for 2025
The overall team winner in the Senior Category will be recognized as the Scholastic Senior Team Chess Champion for 2025

Tie-Break System
Any ties in score that affect the standings will be settled through a 5-minute game.

All entry fees must be paid in-full before 10:30 a.m. on April 19th. Teams that register online and do not show up without contacting the BCF by 10:30 a.m. will be removed from registration. If you have any questions, please email:

IMPORTANT NOTICE

This is the last time the Scholastic Chess Team Champions will be decided this way. In September of 2025 we're launching the Scholastic Chess League. The annual League Championship will determine the 2026 champions and all future Scholastic Chess Teams Champions.
