42nd Chess Olympiad - Baku, Azerbaijan
The 42nd Chess Olympiad was held in Baku, Azerbaijan between September 2-13, 2016. The 170 teams in the Open section and 134 in the Female section made the event the largest in Olympiad history.
The Bahamas was represented by CM Elton Joseph, CM Kendrick Knowles, NM Valentine Cox, NM Frank Gibson, and CM Cecil "Carver" Moncur. Ranked 151st based on average rating going into the tournament, the team finished with seven match points - good enough for 157th place, just about where it started.
