EXECUTIVE BOARD

The administration of BCF is lead by The Executive Committee, which is comprised of five members elected to serve for a 2 year term. The five positions are:

  • ​President
  • 1st Vice President
  • 2nd Vice President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary

The Committee's purpose is to ensure good governance, promotion and sponsorship of chess play through the commonwealth of the Bahamas.

Are you a Leader? If you’re an outgoing, engaging leader consider joining our Executive Committee. 

Any of these five volunteer position gives you an opportunity to collaborate with a team of leaders, leverage your skills and resources to help manage our organization, connect with chess players, supporters and fans, and contribute to strategic planning while delivering chess opportunities for everyone across the entire Bahamas.

​We encourage members that qualify and are willing to commit and accept full responsibility for the wellbeing of BCF to seek Executive Committee positions.

SUB COMMITTEES

The Executive Committee is responsible for appointing 3 Sub-Committees every year at the first General Meeting. The 3 Sub-Committees are: 

a) Rules/Disciplinary (3 members minimum)

b) Ad Hoc (3 members minimum)

c) Elections (3 members minimum)

No officer can serve on the Rules/Disciplinary or Elections Committee.
The Tournament Director is appointed by the Executive Committee. He/she is: 

​a) responsible for management of all aspects of BCF sanction tournaments
b) Assist all other Executive Committee Members in their designated duties
c) Organize, direct and oversee all BCF tournaments and be the chief arbiter of same
d) Issue and update ratings for all tournaments competitors

e) Undertake all duties necessary for the smooth and effective running of BCF tournaments
f) responsible for the implementation and management of all aspects of junior chess
