BAHAMAS CHESS FEDERATION KICKS OFF THE YEAR 2020 WITH BLITZ TOURNAMENT
The Bahamas Chess Federation’s 2020 year kicked off with the BLITZ Tournament which was held over the Majority Rule weekend. On 12 January thirty-five (35) chess players, including six (6) new chess players, participated in this fast-paced tournament. Participants competed in six (6), ten (10) round matches. The BLITZ Tournament 2020 featured three sections: - Open Section, Junior Rook Division and the Bishop Division for beginners.
Blitz style tournaments require players to think quickly and keep a cool head. The term Blitz describes chess games with a time control of 10 minutes or less. Blitz competitions are always exciting events where intuition and experience are important factors in securing a win. With Game in 5 minutes the 2020 BLITZ Tournament was very exciting and yielded many unexpected results.
