Heroes Day 2013
After four rounds of exciting play, the undefeated victors claimed their prizes. Nathan Smith, the young rising chess star, proved too much for his peers in the Reserve section and finished the tournament with four wins. In second place was Franz Adiao, followed in third by tournament newcomer, Edwin Simmons. The federation is proud of his achievement and of the play of everyone who participated in the Reserve section.
In the Open section, the fight was sharp and ruthless. Even under relatively cool conditions, beads of perspiration could be seen on the faces of some players. After four tough rounds, long-time veteran Elton Joseph was able to escape battered but undefeated, finishing on 4.0 points and claiming the overall victory.
