New Providence Open 2015

By winning their respective sections in the New Providence Open 2015, CM Cecil Moncur and CM Nathan Smith proved their status as two of the country's top chess players.  Both candidate masters went undefeated in the tourney--Moncur in the Open section and Smith in the Under-16 section-- finishing with 6.0 points and 4.0 points respectively.

The FIDE-rated tournament featured a time control of 60 mins plus a 30 sec increment with each move, putting everyone's thinking skills to the ultimate test.  The top three finishers in each section were:

Open

2. CM Elton Joseph
3. Philip Hanna Jr.

Under-16
1. CM Nathan Smith
2. Malik Sands
3. Marfeeyou Joseph
