Max White Online Junior Blitz Champion 2020
A formidable chess battle ensued over the weekend at the Online Blitz Chess Championship held on Sunday, December 27.  Nineteen (19) players, including several new players and a number of brave juniors, joined the open section's fray. The Open Section is generally for older, more experienced players. In the more friendly Junior arena, eight (8) kids battled it out for the top spot. Twenty-seven  players in total participated in the 2020 BCF Online Blitz Championship,  the final BCF tournament for the year.

While ratings are important, in a blitz-type event with 5 mins time control for both sides, anything can happen!!! Mouse speed and chess intuition play a significant role in the end result. Chess intuition is the ability to recognize and compare dozens of positional and tactical patterns subconsciously. The level of one's chess intuition is generally based on experience.

The 2020 BCF Blitz Tournament  was a very competitive event;]. In the Open division, 4 Players tied with 5 points out of 7, but as a result of the tiebreak, Luke Stuart seized first place with CM Kendrick Knowles in second and CM Byron Small placing third.

In the Junior Section, Max White claimed first place with 4 out of 5, Chika Pride came second and Lheerin Hanchell was  the third winner.
Congratulations to Hstyles23 for the biggest upset of the tournament scoring half a point against a player rated 800 points higher in round one of the open section.
